Biography

The goal of my research is understanding how we can make it easier for people, organizations, and communities to make healthy choices. As part of this work, in the 2019-2024 cycle I lead the PRC-RH Core Research Project which is designed to assist micropolitan communities in identifying, adapting, and implementing evidence-based interventions. In the current cycle, I am excited about working on improving HPV vaccination rates in Iowa as part of our CPCRN research project and working with researchers across the network during the ARISe inaugural cycle.

Please comment on what one of the PRC-RH values means to you.

Amplifying community voice has been very meaningful during the pandemic. The experiences of our micropolitan communities have not been represented in the media or at the federal level. Much of our work during this pandemic has been making sure that decision-makers and program planners understand how micropolitan communities have experienced the pandemic.

What PRC-RH-related work are you excited to share?

I am excited about the vaccine provider toolkit because it was developed in direct response to a community need and has taken off and been shared all over the US.
